Today’s lesson

·         Finding out what the client wants and making sure that it’s doable, or to make sure that you can learn the skills this can be done by finding people in the industry. Most people in the industry are happy to help and you can learn far more than you can from them than going online.

·         Budget but as student the pay if any will be small but most of the work will be done for nothing but what’s the most important part is the experience.

·         But as a student don’t take professional jobs as you are taking work form the industry’s professionals and this might mean you take jobs from them. but in the future you might need these professionals to help you get into the industry.

·         After getting a job you must research the audience to find out the key information that is needed to market to them ,this information is the most important part of the project as you can make the greatest product ever but if it don’t get the target audiences attention the site will fail. This is demographics and socioeconomics are the key parts of locating the target audience’s.

·         The hourly rate for a web designer is £35-£50 depending on the job that

·         DP is your personal expenses that occur during the project that you are on, these can be anything from travel to food.

·         Negotiating deadlines, deadlines are a key part of any project allowing you and the client to keep a check on the progress of the project, the deadline must be realistic when you set it. But after the deadline has been decided between you and the client you should make your own deadline giving you and extra week or two at the end in case that you miss one deadline you still have time to complete the task before it’s too late.  A common clause that comes  with these contracts is that if you don’t meet the deadline you must pay a daily percentage as a form of compensation .

brief

AFTE interactive website and video production

We at Automated Flying Transport Europe are world suppliers of unmanned Aircraft transporters and sell the world’s freight goods and troop transport planes, our speciality is that all of our planes can be mass produced and can fly around the world 3 times before refuelling. The new X1-262T is about to be released to the, UN freight company the world largest importers and exporters of fright goods with the demand of faster more efficient transport methods the old ways of containerships are now becoming obsolete compared to the cheaper transport by air. Some of the old aircraft such as the Antnov-225 are now becoming too slow and too expensive to be plausible but with the new X1-262T electric plane is not only more efficient but has a larger cargo hold which can hold 400 tons of cargo.

But there is a slight catch to the planes as the older planes from one of our rivals companies who originally created the concept has given the UAT’s (Unmanned Air Transporters) a bad name, we want the customers trust to be regained by showing them that we have focused on the problems and solved them and made the system safe. The competition is extremely aggressive in this market and we would like the very best that can be achieved so we have a set budget of £ 5.6million for the website and the videos that will be needed in the site.

2 years until the official release our new unmanned Air Transporters, but the problem is that this is a new revolutionary systems are based on and old concept. The old concept has a lot of bad publicity with the Air Force and Transport community’s we need you to create an interactive website. This website would need to have emphasis on the parts of the aircraft that failed and lost peoples trust, the customers need to be able to relate to the problems but not in a way that they lose trust in us so that we can show them how we solved them and how they won’t happen again. This also must promote the new aircraft to the customers; this must include the new redeeming features of the aircraft and it will still need contain the basic information on the plane that will be contained in the file attached; the website must have a theme of metallic and streamlining like the plane has, the colour scheme must be light colours but not to dominate like bright reds and so on. The overall feel for the site must be clean and crisp like the external shapes and panels of the new X1-262T this will hopefully add an aerodynamic feel.

· New aerodynamic panels for heat insulations

· New eco fuel system

· Worldwide flight control

· White and silver colour scheme

This will need to include raw video footage of the new aircraft that will need to be edited down into a two to three minute video to be included in the website. But this video footage must promote the plane to the customers, showing the planes amazing features that our competition doesn’t have and making sure that this emphasis is on the new features the video must be up to professional standards. This video must be sent to the design and marketing team here at Automated Flying Transport Europe this then will be checked that it’s up to standards and sent back with feedback if needed then it can be updated to the website.
